But.

It’s that time of year again – and I have no doubt the writing therapy will be needed. This morning I was reading a blog, and was suddenly drowned in a wave of sadness. And jealousy.

It was a simple thing – a couple of posts with pictures of the blogger with her Mum and Dad, being normal and doing family stuff over Christmas. Giggling and being silly and comfortable and warm and NORMAL.

This year I refuse to get lost in it. I will NOT. Willnotwillnotwillnotwillnot.

But I will catch up on the last 6 months. Honest…

Wrong, yes, I know.

But they tasted good… ;)

Day one.

Completed.

I may have nearly died.

I think I actually did wet myself.

I certainly need to do it in trousers that stay up in future.

Oh, and tonight I have a Big Night Out. In Heels.
Good timing to cripple my legs, huh?

Right now, my girl is in school.

In her nooniform and everything.

At 6 this morning she climbed into bed with me, and as I hugged her close I listened to the wind blowing a hoolie, the rain slapping at the windows… and I wanted to hold on to her forever. Just breathing in the delicious smell of her, feeling her warm and sleepy, curled into me like we’ve done so often over the last four and a half years…

…and just refuse to let the world come and take her away.

Not yet.

Course – three hours later she was bustling excitedly into school without a backwards glance. Little Sod.

It’s a bit dusty round here, isn’t it? *blows* *coughs*

Bah. It’s that time of year. Wedding season. School holidays. Everything goes to pot. My house looks a bit like that picture too. Only with more laundry stacked up.

As soon as we’ve been to Wales, wandered in the mountains, sploshed in the streams, and generally had some US time.
