Over the summer, C and I have taken to opening the patio doors wide before we go to bed, lying on our backs in the doorway and watching the stars and chatting. Although we spend most of our days in each others company, it is these last hours before bed that we have both come to cherish – as the nights have grown chillier and damper we have simply added a spare duvet and more cushions, and stayed up far too late, far too often as we watch the sky (or listen to the rain) and talk and talk. Such a perfect afternoon
One of those lazy Sundays when you get to the afternoon and start t feel a le-e–etle bit guilty about the laziness. So we did what we always do – headed to Win Green for a stroll along the Sheep Drove. We sauntered, we hid, we threw sticks, we jumped puddles, we silly-skipped and jelly-legged, and held hands, and chatted, and laughed, and were just… happy. Properly, really, truly, way-deep-down-inside burstingly Happy. Of course, the sun was shining, the wind had dropped, and it’s one of our favourite places in the world to be.
