Yet another glooooorious autumn day, so we did what every other self-respecting family did and took ourselves out into it.

Perfect, perfect day...

walking in the magic woods, searching for elves.

Jolly found a real actual magic wand

there was magic everywhere we looked

And this is a rather smug-looking Bad Bad Dog. She chased a deer, got lost and couldn't find us for ten minutes. By the time she got back she couldn't walk on her bad leg - she had to lie down for ten minutes before we could get her to hobble back to the car. Idiot dog.

One of those lazy Sundays when you get to the afternoon and start t feel a le-e–etle bit guilty about the laziness. So we did what we always do – headed to Win Green for a stroll along the Sheep Drove.

We sauntered, we hid, we threw sticks, we jumped puddles, we silly-skipped and jelly-legged, and held hands, and chatted, and laughed, and were just… happy. Properly, really, truly, way-deep-down-inside burstingly Happy.

Of course, the sun was shining, the wind had dropped, and it’s one of our favourite places in the world to be. It was very beautiful when we got there…  but by the time we were walking back it was honestly some kind of magical.
