You know when you just don’t see it coming?

Following our most perfect of evenings on the beach, we took a meandering drive home across country, avoiding the main roads and singing and chatting.

Jolly spoke to me, and mis-pronounced, saying “Lummy, Look at…” Cue much squeals of laughter, and Boy yelping ‘Lummy Litchcock!” (our surname is Hitchcock, which is important for what follows…)

A new game was born. Following Lummy Litchcock, we had Daddy as Laddy Litchcock of course, and then roars of everyone’s names being changed to begin with L.

One of those stoopid silly games which is intensely funny after a long day of being together being silly.

We were all laughing and joining in, taking turns to pick new letters. Things were going swimmingly as we romped through the alphabet -  for some reason H was very funny – Hink Hitchcock, Holly Hitchcock, Hoy Hitchcock and Humber Hun, Haddy and Hummy; see, even with our web names its mildly amusing. Me as Dummy Ditchcock caused much mirth, as did my Tummy Titchcock.

We’d been playing for a while, and got to that everything’s-giggle-worthy wheezy stage, when Boy picked ‘B’…

The Gallery – Ugly

This is the latest prompt from Tara’s Gallery posts. I had trouble with this one… I tried, very hard, but ugly is not a word I use, and rarely something I see. Only one thing kept coming back to me, and there was no way I was posting THAT on t’interweb.

But then.. I visited the Moiderer. And she made me feel a wuss.

After all, I talk about so many things here, why on earth is this worse?

I think because its about the only thing I feel shamefully responsible for.

But.

This blog is about being brave and honest.

So.

Scariest thing I’ve ever done.

Here it is.

The ugliest thing in my world.

It’s not really the size – though that’s not pretty. I’ve been overweight for years, I’m used to the wobble. No, it’s more. Since I had Pink, my stomach has not felt like my own any more.

The caesarean messed it up – not only does it feel oddly doughy, weird and jellylike, but it is also totally numb in that entire region I am holding in the picture. Never warm and part of me. It’s this big mass of wobbly lifeless nothingness.

And I hate it quite a lot.

Ugly is quite a good word for it.

PS – Moiderer? The Belly Battle is ON. ;)

Right Outside My Front Door

I have been meaning to join Tara’s Gallery – but keep hesitating as I haven’t moved all my photography over on to this blog yet. But that’s not happening anytime soon, and I’ll never join if I don’t just get on with it; so here it is – this week’s theme is Outside my front door.

I actually had in mind a gorgeous sunrise pic taken from our bedroom window last year, but then this happened yesterday, and I couldn’t resist it – this is C showing Pink the rainbow – standing in our front door way.

Oh and here’s the one I was going to post – taken from my bedroom window as the sun came up… Amazing what you can be happy about when a child wakes you at the crack of dawn.

Lucky? Me?

Yep.

The aim is to get as many of your photographs viewed by others, so if you do have the time, make sure you try and visit some of the other entries – even if it’s only a couple – and let them know what you think.

Blue has a Busy Day

She figured out what it means we the silver bowl goes up on the kitchen surface.

She had her first bath.

She found the perfect quiet corner for sleeping in. And the perfect bed buddy.

And played so much hide and seek she got rather bored with the whole thing.
